The Punk Syndrome won two Jussi awards in the Jussi ceremony organised on 3rd Ferbruary 2013. Jussi is the Finnish equivalent to the Oscars, awarding the best Finnish filmmakers each year.

The selection of the award winners is made by film society Filmiaura, which consists of approximately 260 Finnish film professionals that vote for the best filmmakers in many different categories.

The Punk Syndrome won prizes for the best documentary and editing (Riitta Poikselkä).

The Official Finnish Roller Derby Team, named after the film as Team Punk Syndrome, will be traveling to Sweden to compete in the Malmö Roller Derby Festival on 13-15 July 2012. Team Punk Syndrome will compete against teams from Denmark, Norway and Sweden at a three day derby extravaganza, which also includes live music, roller disco, a derby fashion show, derby lectures, night skate and many opportunities for the general public to get a taste of the sport.
 The team comprises 22 members from six Finnish leagues, who where selected through lottery to represent Finland in the Malmö Derby Cup. The event is free and families are welcome.

Roller Derby is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Championed by women, this fast paced, full-contact sport on quad skates, was first introduced in Finland in 2009.

The Punk Syndrome will be seen on the silver screens in the UK in autumn. The film is distributed by London based November Films, which focuses on high-quality documentaries. The film is one of the few Finnish docs that get a distribution in theatres outside of Finland. The Punk Syndrome has already gained a lot of recognition in festivals abroad and won the special jury prize at Visions du Réel festival this April.

The film will be screened at numerous foreign festivals this summer. First stop is in Sheffield, where the film will be screened on 14th and 16th June at Sheffield Doc/Fest. Besides the Punk Syndrome team, also the band will travel to the festival and perform for their first time in Great Britain. During the same weekend the film will also be screened at Sodankylä Midnight Sun Film Festival.

After Sheffield the film will travel to Silverdocs festival in Silver Springs. Established by the American Film Institute and Discovery Channel, Silverdocs is one of the most recognised documentary film festivals in the States. The Punk Syndrome will be screened on 19th and 20th June in the Sterling World Competition programme, in which it will compete for the Grand Jury Prize with ten other films.

The Punk Syndrome has now 10 000 viewers in cinemas in Finland. The film premiered in the beginning of May here in Finland and has received a lot of praise from both the film critics and the audience. 10 000 viewers during three weeks for a Finnish documentary is a great accomplishment. The team behind the film would like to warmly thank to all the fans of the film and band for their support!

Screenings of The Punk Syndrome will be organised in Helsinki also with English subtitles. English subtitles can be seen in the last Punk Syndrome screenings of the day between 18th and 24th May 2012 in Kinopalatsi. In other Kinopalatsi screenings only Swedish subtitles will be available. Swedish subtitles can also be seen in the screenings of the following theatres: Vantaa Flamingo, Espoo Omena, Turku Kinopalatsi, Pori Promenadi, Oulu Plaza.
